This project is composed of several additions to the BEA International Gallery at Florida International University. The additions, or interventions, were designed for people to engage with one another as well as with their environment. The New Public Space was created with the aim to understand people's responses to a space that is visually, audibly, and physically rich.
The additions explored the concepts of digital (visual information) vs physical (textures and shadows), length of engagement, and path choosing (based on elements that were attention-grabbing). So far, the findings have shown that 'solo visitors' were more likely to interact with the digital interventions while the 'accompanied visitors' preferred the physical ones.
