During the six months I spent in Italy I practiced drawing spaces by hand. Contemporary projects such as the Gare de Lyon by architect Santiago Calatrava, and Renaissance masterpieces such as Villa Maser by Palladio were subjects of my studies.
I focused on developing a consistent method of drawing architectures with dramatic differences in styles. Capturing spatial qualities of a building became priority over drawing details, shadows, and realism.
